Introduced in 1932, the iittala Aino Aalto tumblers won both the 1932 iittala-Karhula design competition in Finland and the gold medal at the 1935 Milan Triennial. Inspired by concentric ripples of water, designer and architect Aino Aalto brought her innovative approach of blending function and form through honest materials to create the renowned glassware. Almost a century later, the line remains an essential piece of dinnerware in Finland and beyond thanks to its timeless style and simple design. Durable, versatile, and stackable, the pressed heavy glass has ridges that provide both visual texture and a firm grip in hand.
